The petitioner is a convict. He is now under the care and custody of the third respondent.
2. The petitioner had preferred an appeal in Crl.A.No.554 of 2022 against the order of conviction and sentence passed by the Mahila Court at Tiruppur in S.C.No.11 of 2021, dated 18.04.2021. The said appeal had been partly allowed on 04.08.2025. The petitioner states that he had applied for 30 days’ ordinary leave on 17.08.2026. The leave petition had been rejected on the ground that, if the petitioner proceeds on leave, it will result in a law and order problem. Hence, the present writ petition.
3. When the matter was taken up for admission, I heard Mr.S.Yogaraja Sekar and requested him to get a report from the Probation Officer and the matter was directed to be listed today.

4. When I took up the matter for hearing, Mr.S.Yogaraja Sekar reported that, as per the present situation, if the petitioner is sent on leave, it would not result in any law and order problem.

Hence, the impugned order passed by the second respondent in No.816/Tha Oo1/2026, dated 19.08.2026, is hereby quashed. The Writ Petition (Criminal) is allowed on the following conditions :-
(i) The petitioner Navarasan, S/o.Selvaraj, Convict Prisoner PID No.287079, Central Prison, Coimbatore – 641 018, is granted ordinary leave for twenty one (21) days from 02.11.2026 to 23.11.2026 without escort.
