Heard both sides.

2. Mr. D. Rajaboopathy, learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), takes notice for respondents 1 and 2.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that, the petitioner's representation is not yet disposed. Therefore, this petition has been filed.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) placed before this Court the order passed by the Hon'ble Division Bench of this Court in Review Application (MD)No.129 of 2026 dated 21.08.2026, in which the earlier order passed by the Hon'ble Division Bench of this Court in W.P.(MD)No. 9157 of 2017 dated 17.05.2017, has been reviewed. The order dated 21.08.2026 passed by the Hon'ble Division Bench in Rev Aplc(MD).No.129 of 2026 is extracted below:- “The only ground on which review is sought is that the directions issued by the Coordinate Bench regarding the manner in which the cock fight should be permitted have to be necessarily revisited particularly in view of the provisions of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, wherein under Section 3(2), 11 and 28, it had been held that cock fight are illegal and cannot be permitted under law. In view of the fact that the Statute prohibits such an event from taking place, we would allow the review application and hold that the directions issued by the Division Bench are contrary to law and totally unwarranted and should not act as a precedent in any application seeking permission to conduct cock fight in future.”

5. Since the cock fight is prohibited as per the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, the learned counsel for the petitioner having known the recent order, seeks permission of this Court to withdraw the present Writ Petition. He has also made an endorsement in the bundle to that effect.

6. In view of the endorsement made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Writ Petition is dismissed as withdrawn.
