(Judgment of the Court was made by S.M.Subramaniam, J.) The present writ appeal has been instituted challenging the writ order dated 02.01.2023 passed in W.P.No.36219 of 2016. The appellant filed the writ petition seeking a direction to the first respondent to initiate departmental disciplinary proceedings and criminal proceedings against the respondents 2 to 4.

2. The grievance of the appellant is that his patta land was encroached upon for laying a public road. However, the fact remains that the appellant filed a writ petition in W.P.No.36219 of 2016 and this Court directed the Tahsildar, Thiruthani Taluk, Tiruvallur District, to look into the proposal and take a decision and pass orders before 15.09.2022. In compliance with the order, the Tahsildar initiated action and provided a land to the appellant and patta was also issued in his name. It is not in dispute that the appellant is in possession of the land allotted to him by the Tahsildar. Not satisfied with the allotment of land, the appellant has instituted the writ petition for initiation of departmental disciplinary proceedings and criminal proceedings.

W.A.NO.530 OF 2024

3. Since the grievance of the appellant has already been redressed, seeking further direction for the initiation of departmental disciplinary proceedings and criminal proceedings is unnecessary. Consequently, the writ appeal stands dismissed. No costs. [S.M.S., J.] [K.G.R., J.]
