The petitioner has come up with the writ petition based on his representation dated 22.08.2026 in the nature of writ of mandamus directing the third respondent to give permission for the demonstration and to give adequate protection on 06.09.2026.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is working as General Secretary of Madurai Therku Makkal Urimal Paathukaapu Ulal Vilipunarvu Sangam and one of the member of the said Association was falsely implicated in a criminal case by the fourth respondent. Therefore, the members of the said association intended to make a demonstration before the third respondent police station and an earlier request was sought on 31.07.2026, which was rejected by the third respondent on 22.08.2026 with the flimsy reasons. W.P(MD)No.4999 of 2026 22.08.2026 is pending before the respondent police, the petitioner has approached this Court by filing the present writ petition seeking a direction.

3. A perusal of the records reveal that the representation dated 22.08.2026 was only sent to the first respondent, namely, the Superintendent of Police. There is no such reference in the typed set of papers that representation was sent to the third respondent. It is also seen that the representation sent to the Superintendent of Police has not been forwarded to the third respondent. Though the petitioner might have sent the same representation to the fourth respondent, but there is no representation at the hands of the third respondent.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) submitted that if the petitioner makes a fresh representation before the third respondent, it will be considered in accordance with law.

5. Recording the above submission, the petitioner is directed to make a fresh representation to the third respondent at
