Sharma, Additional Advocate General. Jyotsna Rewal Dua, Judge The petitioner is the claimant before the learned Arbitrator. This petition, moved under Section 29-A of the Arbitration & Conciliation Act, 1996, seeks an extension of time for the completion of arbitral proceedings by six months with effect from 04.11.2024.

2. In respect of the dispute between the parties, the Superintending Engineer, Arbitration Circle, HPPWD, Solan, was appointed as the Sole Arbitrator. The Arbitrator entered upon the reference in November 2022. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the arbitral proceedings are at the final stages. witnesses is complete, and the matter is now at the stage of arguments.

3. Learned Additional Advocate General, appearing for the respondents, has placed on record an instruction memo dated 31.12.2024 from the Executive Engineer, HPPWD, Division Rampur. In the said memo, the respondents have conveyed their no objection to the extension of time for the completion of arbitral proceedings by three months.

4. Taking note of the above, the present petition is allowed. Considering that the matter is at the stage of arguments, the period for completion of arbitral proceedings, including the passing of the final award, is extended by four months with effect from 04.11.2024. The parties are directed to apprise the learned Arbitrator of this order to enable him to accordingly fix the date of hearing. The petition stands disposed of in the above terms, so also the pending miscellaneous application(s), if any.
