ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by M. NIRMAL KUMAR J.) Aggrieved by the condition “with police escort” imposed while granting three days of emergency leave to the convict prisoner under the order dated 08.10.2026 passed by the first respondent, the petitioner/convict prisoner has filed this writ petition.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that he is a life convict. The petitioner’s father is suffering from chest pain and age-related ailments. The doctor has examined him, diagnosed his condition as critical, and issued a medical certificate to that effect. Hence, the petitioner’s presence is required to attend to his father, who is suffering from a serious illness. Therefore, he made a request to the respondents for grant of 3 days emergency leave without escort. But, the respondents, under the order dated 08.10.2026, has granted 3 days emergency leave, however, with police escort, to the convict prisoner. It is the further case of the petitioner that he is not able to provide food and accommodation to the police
