ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by G.Arul Murugan,J) This contempt petition has been filed alleging disobedience of the order dated 30.04.2021 passed in W.P.No.17037 of 2021.

2. This Court disposed of the writ petition directing the authorities to take note of the complaint and act in accordance with law if any encroachments are found.

3. Pursuant to the order passed by this Court and based on the representation made by petitioner, the Zonal Officer, Greater Chennai Corporation, by proceedings dated 13.09.2021, intimated the Tahsildar, Ambattur Taluk, to undertake necessary survey and identify encroachments on the waterbody. The Tahsildar, by proceedings dated 04.10.2024, addressed to the Assistant Executive Engineer, Zone-7,

Cont.P.No.3628 of 2025 Ambattur, furnished a list of properties and stated that as per the Town Survey Land Register, the properties, as alleged by petitioner to be encroachments, stand in the name of private respondents. The Tahsildar has also enclosed the Town Survey Report along with the said proceedings.

4. Admittedly, the proceedings of the Tahsildar dated 04.10.2024 has also been marked to petitioner. Though petitioner received the same, he did not challenge the same.

5. In view of the fact that action has already been taken, and more particularly in the light of the proceedings of the Tahsildar dated 04.10.2024, nothing remains to be adjudicated in the contempt petition. Accordingly, the contempt petition is closed, leaving it open to petitioner to work out the remedy in accordance with law. (SUSHRUT ARVIND DHARMADHIKARI,CJ) (G.ARUL MURUGAN,J)
