ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by M.Nirmal Kumar J.) This petition has been filed to direct the respondents 1 to 3 herein to produce the body or person of the petitioner's son namely Maheswaran aged about 27 years before this Court and set him at liberty within the time stipulated by this Court .

2. The petitioner is the father of one Maheswaran/missing person and he is employed in PMK Consultancy Private Limited at Trichy. Earlier on 30.09.2026 the son of the petitioner contacted him and informed that he will come home soon but thereafter he did not return back. The petitioner had suspicion since his son's two wheeler bearing Reg.No. TN 81 H 4393 was found abandoned near Kamparasampetti check dam, thereby he lodged complaint to the second respondent. Though the second respondent registered a case in Crime No. 346 of 2026 under 'Man Missing', thereafter they have not informed about the stage of the investigation and also not given any details about the son of the petitioner. The petitioner is regularly visiting the police station and

HCP(MD) No. 1399 of 2026 also after closing his tea hop he is searching for his son. Apprehending some danger might have caused to his son the present petition has been filed.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent police submitted that after registration of the First Information Report investigation is in progress and during investigation it was found that the son of the petitioner oriented to transgender and he had left his two wheeler and moved away and started leading his own life. However he fairly admitted that after registration of the First Information Report those details were not informed to the petitioner.

4. Considering the fact the missing person left the home on his own the present petition will not arise. Though the third respondent police registered the First Information Report the respondent police have not informed about the stage of investigation or given any details about the missing person to the petitioner this Court is not inclined to impose any costs.

5. In view of the same, the petition stands dismissed. The second respondent is directed to monitor the investigation and the first

HCP(MD) No. 1399 of 2026 respondent is directed to periodically inform the petitioner about the progress of the case every fortnight. (M.N.K.,J.) (N.G.N.,J.) 28-10-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order Neutral Citation: Yes/No AAV To
