ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) This writ petition has been filed seeking to forbear respondents from cutting down the standing trees in numbering 8000 in S.Nos.261/5 and 263 Ichipatti village, Palladam Taluk, Tiruppur District for issuing patta to beneficiaries.
2. Learned counsel for respondent State has produced written instructions received from Tahsildar dated 27.10.2026, paragraph 2 of which reads as under: “2. The above mentioned lands in Palladam Taluk, Ichipatty Village, S.F.261/5 is classified as Cart track and S.F.No.263 is classified as Odai Poramboke. These lands are Government lands. Steps were taken to reclassify cart track (S.F.No.261/5) by converting it to natham and issue free house site pattas to 99 houseless people. The Classification in __________

W.P.No.31476 of 2022 S.F.No.261/5 is Cart track which is an objectional poramboke. It is humbly submitted that trees in S.F. 261/5 were grown in big size. Already, we have issued 30 patta out of 99 people in Bhoodan land in the same Inchipatty Village in S.F.No.355/2. Remaining beneficiaries will be taken up for issuing the patta. As of now, there is no plan to convert this cart track into natham and issue patta.”
3. Learned counsel for State submits that the proposal to cut down the standing trees in S.Nos.261/5 and 263, Ichipatti village, Palladam Taluk, Tiruppur District has been dropped and the authorities are finding an alternative place for the purpose of issuing patta.
4. In view of the aforesaid, nothing survives for adjudication in this petition. Accordingly, the writ petition is closed. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, the interim application is also closed. (SUSHRUT ARVIND DHARMADHIKARI,CJ) (G.ARUL MURUGAN,J)
