COMMON ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by G.Arul Murugan, J.) The petitioner has filed the above three writ petitions in respect of the unauthorised constructions made at Door No.364, Mint Street, Sowcarpet, Chennai; Door No.361, Mint Street, Sowcarpet, Chennai and Door No.17, Kandappa Mudaly Street, Sowcarpet, Chennai.

2. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing Counsel for the Greater Chennai Corporation.

3. Since no adverse order is passed as against the private respondents, issuance of notice to the private respondents is dispensed with.

4. From the perusal of the materials filed, we find that based on the complaints filed by the petitioner alleging unauthorised constructions in the aforesaid properties, already the Corporation has responded by issuing proceedings dated 31.7.2026 and 04.8.2026, respectively, and had intimated that a field inspection was conducted and Form-I notices were issued, based on which, the Corporation will take further proceedings in accordance with law, if there is any violation of rules.

5. In view of the fact that the Corporation has already conducted a field inspection in response to the petitioner’s complaints and is currently examining whether any rules were violated, we are inclined to dispose of the writ petition with a direction to the Corporation to proceed in accordance with law, after affording a reasonable opportunity of hearing to all parties concerned, including the private respondents, and to bring the proceedings to their logical conclusion as expeditiously as possible. There shall be no order as to costs. (SUSHRUT ARVIND DHARMADHIKARI, CJ) (G.ARUL MURUGAN,J)
