PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the Respondent No.2 to grant 60 days without escort furlough to the petitioner’s Husband by name Arumugam son of Sivasami aged about 40
years, now confining as a life convict prisoner at Trichy Central Prison for undergoing necessary eye surgery and medical treatment, by considering the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 28.09.2026 and based on the Government Order in G.O.Ms.No.82, Home (Prison-V), dated 14.02.2026 in accordance with law within the time stipulated by this Court.

ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by M.Nirmal Kumar J.) Prayer in this writ petition is for issuance of a writ of mandamus direct the second respondent to grant 60 days without escort furlough to the petitioner’s Husband by name Arumugam son of Sivasami aged about 40 years, now confining as a life convict prisoner at Trichy Central Prison for undergoing necessary eye surgery and medical treatment, by considering the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 28.09.2026 and based on the Government Order in G.O.Ms.No.82, Home (Prison-V), dated 14.02.2026 in accordance with law within the time stipulated by this Court.

2. Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, Mr.T.Lenin Kumar , learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents, on instructions, submitted that the representation of the petitioner dated 28.09.2026 is under process and the same will be considered by the respondents in accordance with law within a period of four weeks.
3. In view of the above submission of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents, without going into the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of directing the respondents to consider the representation dated 28.09.2026 submitted by the petitioner and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
