ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by S.M.Subramaniam J.) Writ of mandamus has been initiated directing the respondents 1 to 4 consider petitioners representation dated 24.11.2025 to remove the encroachment in survey No.178 made upon the Odai by the 5th respondent at Thensiruvallur Village, Chinnasalem Taluk, Kallakurichi District.
2. Learned Government Advocate, on instructions, would submit that the authorities conducted survey and identified encroachments in a water body, classified as "Odai". Form-I notice was issued on 04.01.2026. After affording opportunity to the encroachers, final notice was issued on 27.10.2026.
3. In view of the fact that authorities are in the process of continuing enforcement actions for removal of encroachments from the water body, this Court is inclined to direct the official respondents to

continue the enforcement proceedings by following the procedures as contemplated under the relevant Act and Rules in force and remove the encroachments from the water body within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
