ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the first respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 17.08.2026, seeking issuance of patta in respect of the property comprised in Survey No.35/1, situated at 176, Thirukkanamangai Village, Thiruvarur Taluk, Thiruvarur District, measuring an extent of 30 cents, on the basis of the registered Sale Deed dated 31.03.1948, bearing Document No.594 of 1948.

2. The petitioner claims that the subject property was purchased by his father, late N. Ramakrishnan Ondhriyar, under a registered Sale Deed dated 31.03.1948. After his father's demise, the petitioner and his brothers succeeded to the property as legal heirs and have been in possession and enjoyment of the same. Seeking issuance of patta, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 17.08.2026 to the first respondent along with the relevant documents. Since no action was taken, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that, despite the submission of the representation along with the relevant documents, the first respondent has not considered the petitioner's request for issuance of patta. Hence, a direction may be issued to the first respondent to consider the representation and pass appropriate orders.

WP No. 42578 of 2026

4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that the petitioner has not filed any online application seeking issuance of patta and that, upon filing such application, the same would be considered and disposed of by the first respondent in accordance with law.

5. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents and perused the materials available on record.

6. The grievance of the petitioner is that his representation dated 17.08.2026, seeking issuance of patta in respect of the subject property, has not been considered. However, the learned Additional Government Pleader submitted that the petitioner has not filed an online application for the said purpose.

7. In view of the above submission, the petitioner is directed to submit an online application before the competent authority for issuance of patta, along with the relevant documents, in accordance with the prescribed procedure. Upon receipt of such application, the first respondent shall consider the same and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after verifying the relevant revenue records and affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and other persons likely to be affected, if necessary.

WP No. 42578 of 2026

8. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's claim or his entitlement to patta.

9. With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. K.SURENDER J. 27-10-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order Neutral Citation: Yes/No JAI To
