ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 10.08.2023, seeking correction of the patta in respect of the property comprised in Survey No.56/1, measuring an extent of 1 acre and 59 cents, situated at Minjur Village, Ponneri Taluk, Tiruvallur District, and to effect the necessary changes in the revenue records in the names of the petitioner and the other legal heirs of late Jayapal Reddy.
2. The petitioner claims that the subject property originally belonged to late Veeraswamy Reddy and, upon his demise, devolved upon his son, late Jayapal Reddy. Thereafter, the property devolved upon his legal heirs, including the petitioner. The petitioner states that, pursuant to the settlement proceedings dated 25.04.1975, patta in respect of the other family properties was allotted to the legal heirs, whereas the patta in respect of Survey No.56/1 was erroneously granted in the name of the fourth respondent, Boja Reddy, who, according to the petitioner, has no right or connection with the original owner. The petitioner submitted a representation dated 10.08.2023 to the third respondent seeking correction of the revenue records. Since no action was taken, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the patta in respect of Survey No.56/1 was erroneously granted in favour of the fourth respondent, despite the petitioner's claim that the property forms part of the family estate. It is further submitted that, despite receipt of the representation dated 10.08.2023, the third respondent has not considered the same or passed any orders. Hence, a direction may be issued to the respondents to consider the representation and correct the revenue records in accordance with law.
4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that the petitioner has not filed any online application seeking the relief in question. If the petitioner files an online application, the same would be considered and disposed of by the competent authority.
5. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents and perused the materials available on record.
6. The grievance of the petitioner is that his representation dated 10.08.2023, seeking correction of the patta in respect of Survey No.56/1, has not been considered by the competent revenue authority. The petitioner relies upon the earlier settlement proceedings and other relevant documents in support of his claim that the patta was erroneously granted in favour of the fourth

respondent. However, the learned Special Government Pleader submitted that the petitioner has not filed an online application for the said purpose.
7. In view of the above submission, the petitioner is directed to submit an online application before the competent authority, in accordance with the prescribed procedure, along with the relevant documents. Upon receipt of such application, the competent authority shall consider the same and take appropriate action in accordance with law within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of online application of the petitioner. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the title to the subject property or the rival claims of the parties. The competent authority shall independently consider the online application of the petitioner, on its own merits and in accordance with law.
10. With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. K.SURENDER J. 27-10-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order Neutral Citation: Yes/No JAI
