(Order of the Court was made by P.Velmurugan J.) This Writ Petition has been filed as a Public Interest Litigation seeking a direction to the respondents to close or relocate TASMAC Shop No. 9989 and its attached bar, situated at Amuthunnakudi Panchayat, Thoothukudi District, by considering the petitioner’s representation dated 11.07.2026. __________

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that TASMAC Shop No.9989 and its attached bar, situated in a residential area of Amuthunnakudi Panchayat, cause public nuisance and pose safety concerns to the local residents, particularly women and children. He would further submit that the shop is situated within 500 metres of a temple, a church, a library and a school, and that, despite the petitioner’s representation dated 11.07.2026 seeking its closure or relocation, no action has been taken by the respondents. Hence, the petitioner has filed this Writ Petition.
3. The learned Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the representation of the petitioner dated 11.07.2026 will be considered in accordance with law.
4. In view of the above, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, directs the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 11.07.2026, and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. __________
