PRAYER: Writ Petition, filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this court to issue a Writ of Mandamus by directing the respondents No. 1 to 17 to take appropriate legal action and order to
closure of the Sri Vasavi Marriage Hall and the adjacent warehouse constructed without a government license by the 18th to 20th respondents situated in Survey No. 242/2B at Manamedu Village, Thottiyam Taluk, Trichy District by considering the petitioners representations dated 07.03.2025 and 17.03.2025 within the time stipulation as fixed by this court and pass such any or other orders as this Honble Court may deem fit and proper in the circumstances of the case and thus render justice.

ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by P.Velmurugan J.) The present writ petition has been filed seeking the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing respondents 1 to 17 to take appropriate legal action against respondents 18 to 20 and to order the closure of Sri Vasavi Marriage Hall and the adjacent warehouse, allegedly constructed without obtaining the requisite government licence, in Survey No. 242/2B, Manamedu Village, Thottiyam Taluk, Tiruchirappalli District.
2. With the consent of both parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. Mr. M.P. Senthil, learned Government Pleader, takes notice for respondents 1 to 6, 8 to 13 and 17. Mr. V. Karthick Raja, learned Government Advocate, takes notice for the seventh respondent. Mr. S. Deenadhayalan, learned Standing Counsel, takes notice for respondents 14 and 15. Considering the limited relief sought by the petitioner, notice to respondents 16 and 18 to 20 is dispensed with.
4. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that, although respondents 18 to 20 had obtained building plan permission for the construction of a residential house, they have instead constructed a marriage hall in the subject survey number.
5. It is seen from the records that the marriage hall has been functioning for more than a year. The petitioner has not approached this Court in a timely manner and has allowed the construction of the marriage hall to be completed and the hall to function for more than a year before filing the present writ petition.
6. In the above circumstances, we are not inclined to entertain the present public interest litigation. Accordingly, the writ petition stands dismissed. However, the petitioner is at liberty to work out his remedy in the manner known to law. There shall be no order as to costs. (P.V.,J.)
