ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by M.D.Sumathi J.) Heard both sides.

2. The writ petitioner had enrolled herself as an advocate with the Karnataka State Bar Council on 23.08.2019. Consequent to her marriage, she had shifted to Madurai. She therefore wants to enroll herself with the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Since there was some delay in the process, she had to file more than one writ petition.

3. Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Standing Counsel for the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu submitted that they have no objection for transferring the name of the petitioner from the role of the other State Bar Council to the role of the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

WP(MD) No. 30100 of 2026

4. Since the first respondent has expressed their No Objection, there should not be any further difficulty. The second respondent is directed to pass an order permitting such transfer order within three weeks. Thereafter, the first respondent is directed to conclude all the formalities and enter the name of the petitioner on the role of the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. The entire exercise shall be completed within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. The Writ Petition is allowed. No costs. (G.R.S.,J.) (M.D.S.,J.) 16-10-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order Neutral Citation: Yes/No rmi To
