COMMON ORDER
These writ petitions involve the same subject matter and core legal issues and are therefore being heard together and disposed of by this common order.
2. These writ petitions have been filed to quash the orders passed by the third respondent and to call for the entire records of the third respondent pertaining to the land of Thandeeswarar Temple of Velachery Village in Survey No.21/pt, and also to direct the first respondent to consider the petitioners’ representation dated 18.09.2025. The impugned notice was issued directing the petitioners either to pay the outstanding amount or to vacate the temple land. As the petitioners are aggrieved by the same, the present writ petitions have been filed.
3. Pending the writ petitions, the concerned authority, the Joint Commissioner, HR & CE, has initiated proceedings under Section 78 of the Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Act, 1959. The same is pending before the Joint Commissioner–III, Mylapore, and this fact is not disputed. The petitioners are participating in the said enquiry. Since the petitioners have already been subjected to an enquiry before the concerned authorities under Section 78, ibid., these writ petitions can be disposed of granting liberty to the petitioners to avail their remedies in accordance with law pursuant to the conclusion of the enquiry under Section 78, ibid.
