ORDER

The applicant was discharged on 31.12.2025 on fulfilment of terms of engagement. He was in a permanent low medical category on account of disability of ‘Coronary Artery Disease– Inferior Wall Myocardial Infarction Triple Vessel Disease Post Angioplasty’, the extent of which was assessed to be 21% for life but neither attributable to nor aggravated by military service. It was assessed as neither attributable to nor aggravated by military service because the onset thereof was while the applicant was on leave and there was no proof of extreme exertion or stress in the days preceding the incident.

Learned counsel for the applicant has submitted that at the relevant time the applicant was posted in field area. Merely because the onset of the disability was while on leave, the disability could not have been assessed to be neither attributable to nor aggravated by military service.
