PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of MANDAMUS, directing the 1st and 2nd Respondents to grant the requisite administrative sanction and release the necessary funds as per the technical estimate in Na.Ka.A2/2474/2024 Dated 11.05.2026 by the 5th respondent, for the construction of a permanent Anganwadi building at Natham Survey No.
782/1, measuring 0.06.68 Hectares/Ares, Vadakku Salaigramam Village, Ilayangudi Taluk, Sivagangai District and consequently direct the respondents to commence and completing the construction of the Anganwadi building within a stipulated time as may be fixed by this Hon’ble Court.

ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by P. VELMURUGAN J.) The prayer in this writ petition is to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st and 2nd Respondents to grant the requisite administrative sanction and release the necessary funds as per the technical estimate in
WP(MD) No. 30677 of 2026 Na.Ka.A2/2474/2024 dated 11.05.2026 by the 5th respondent, for the construction of a permanent Anganwadi building at Natham Survey No. 782/1, measuring 0.06.68 Hectares/Ares, Vadakku Salaigramam Village, Ilayangudi Taluk, Sivagangai District and consequently direct the respondents to commence and complete the construction of the Anganwadi building within a time frame.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the existing Anganwadi building constructed in 2004 in Survey No. 267/3 became structurally unsafe and was evacuated in 2024. The children and other beneficiaries are presently accommodated in a rented tiled house without proper toilet and sanitation facilities, thereby compromising their health and safety. Despite repeated representations by the petitioner, departmental recommendations, site inspection, and submission of a technical estimate for Rs.16,45,000/-, the respondents have failed to grant final administrative sanction and release the necessary funds. Hence, this writ petition.
3. Considering the fact that since the existing Anganwadi building was not in good condition, the children and other beneficiaries have been presently accommodated in a rental house which has no proper toilet and
WP(MD) No. 30677 of 2026 sanitation facilities, the 1st respondent/District Collector is directed to pass orders according administrative sanction on the proposal sent in this regard and release necessary funds within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and file a compliance report.
4. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
