ORDER

The present Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of a Writ of Mandamus seeking for a direction against the 1st and 2nd respondents to conduct survey based upon the petitioner’s online application No.2026/0123/25/008771 dated 13.08.2026 with the help of necessary police protection and to fix the boundary stones by availing necessary assistance for the 3rd respondent.

2. Heard Mr.I.Anthony Prabu, learned Counsel for the petitioner, Mr.S.Siva Thilakar, learned Special Government Pleader, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 1 and 2 and Mr.I.Murugesan, learned Counsel for the State of Tamil Nadu, who accepts notice on behalf of the third respondent. By consent of both parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage.

3. The petitioner submitted that he is the owner of the subject property and in order to survey and fix the boundaries to the subject property, he had made an application on 13.08.2026 and since no further steps have been taken by the revenue authorities, the petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition with the above relief.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and also considering the fact that the application of the petitioner is pending from 13.08.2026, this Court is inclined to issue the following directions: “The second respondent is directed to process the application of the petitioner, dated 13.08.2026 on merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. If necessary, the second respondent can seek assistance of the third respondent at the time of surveying, who in turn, shall provide adequate police protection at the cost of the petitioner.”

5. It is made clear that the order passed and the proceedings undertaken pursuant thereto would not confer any right to possession of the property if the same is in the hands of third parties.

6. With the above directions, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. 02-11-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order Neutral Citation: Yes/No cmr To
