PRAYER: Writ Petition, filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this court to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the 2nd respondent to register the sale deed dated 25.09.2026 presented by the petitioner, which was executed by one Kaliyaperumal in favour of the petitioner in respect of Plot No. 116 measuring 2000 Sq.ft., comprised in Survey No. 182/1, 183 situated at Thenpuliyur Village, Peruntharakudi Taluk, Thiruvarur District on the basis of the petitioner’s representation dated 14.10.2026.

ORDER
The present Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of a Writ of Mandamus seeking for a direction to the second respondent to register the sale deed dated 25.09.2026 presented by the petitioner in respect of Plot No. 116 measuring 2000 Sq.ft., comprised in Survey No. 182/1, 183 situated at Thenpuliyur Village, Peruntharakudi Taluk, Thiruvarur District on the basis of the petitioner’s representation dated 14.10.2026.
2. Heard the learned Counsel on either side. By consent of both parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage.
3. From the perusal of the records, it is revealed that the petitioner had obtained online registration time slot for registration of a document before the Sub Registrar, Thiruvarur, however, the petitioner had presented the said document before the second respondent, who is not a competent authority to register the subject document. Hence, the second respondent cannot be compelled to register the document, which he has no jurisdiction to register the same.
