ORDER
This Writ Petition is filed seeking to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the 2nd respondent to close the savings account of deceased Eswari in Account No. 50010103197481 and other related cheques and ATM Cards with within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
2. The Learned Counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner's application for closing the bank account of the deceased Eswari in Account No. 50010103197481 and other related cheques and ATM Cards, is not considered. The petitioner claiming to be one of the legal heirs of the deceased person, this Writ Petition is filed.
3. The Learned Counsel appearing for the second respondent, submitted that the petitioner is not the sole legal heir of the deceased Raghul and other legal heirs are also surviving. He further submitted that the account sought to be closed by the petitioner is a zero-balance account.
4. However, considering the fact that it is a zero-balance account, there will not be any impediment for the second respondent Bank to close the same. Hence, the second respondent Bank is directed to close the
WP(MD) No. 31134 of 2026 account of the deceased Eswari in Account No. 50010103197481 and other related cheques and ATM Cards within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
