ORDER
Asserting that the petitioner’s passport was seized by the Immigration Officer at the Chennai Airport when the petitioner arrived at Chennai on 01.04.2026, the petitioner submitted representation dated 12.10.2026 for the return of said passport. On the ground that no action
WP(MD) No. 31331 of 2026 was taken thereon, the present Writ Petition was filed.
2. Mr.V.Murali Ganesh, learned Standing Counsel, accepts notice for the respondent. He submits that an inquiry would be held after issuing notice to the petitioner and that a decision would be taken thereafter.
3. Considering the above submissions, without expressing any opinion on the merits, this Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the respondent to conduct an inquiry in relation to the petitioner’s request for return of passport. After providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner, a speaking order shall be issued within two (2) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
