ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents, particularly the 1st respondent, to consider the petitioner’s representation dated 24.09.2026 and consequently direct respondents 2 and 3 to grant admission to the petitioner minor daughter V.Vidhyasri in XI Standard in CSI Ewart Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Purasawalkam, Chennai 600084, and permit her to continue her education without interruption.

2. The case of the petitioner is that she is the mother of the minor student, V.Vidhyasri, who had been continuously studying in the 2nd and 3rd respondent school from Kindergarten to X Standard. The student appeared for X Standard Public Examination but failed only in one subject. Subsequently, she appeared

for the supplementary examination and successfully passed the said subject. Earlier, the school authorities had issued an application form for admission to XI Standard and collected Rs.2,000/- towards the application. However, after the student passed the supplementary examination, the school authorities refused to grant admission to XI Standard on the ground that the admission process had already been completed and that the student's academic performance was not satisfactory. Despite the petitioner's representation seeking admission, no effective action has been taken. Hence, the present Writ Petition.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner's daughter had been studying in the 2nd and 3rd respondent school continuously for nearly ten years, from Kindergarten to X Standard. Though she initially failed only in the subject of Social Science in X Standard Public Examination, she subsequently passed the said subject in the supplementary examination. The learned counsel further submits that, even prior to the publication of the results, the school authorities had assured the petitioner that admission to XI Standard would be granted after publication of the results and had also issued an application form upon collecting Rs.2,000/- towards the application fee.

WP.No.43878 of 2026

However, after the student successfully passed the supplementary examination, the school authorities arbitrarily refused to grant admission, citing completion of the admission process and the student's unsatisfactory academic performance. It is further submitted that the school authorities have not even issued the Transfer Certificate to the student, thereby affecting her opportunity to pursue further studies elsewhere. The learned counsel therefore seeks appropriate directions to the respondents to grant admission to the minor student in XI Standard and permit her to continue her education.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the 2nd and 3rd respondents are directed to consider the representation submitted by the petitioner seeking admission of her daughter, the minor student V.Vidhyasri, in XI Standard, and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law.

5. It is made clear that the above direction shall not confer any special privilege or preferential right upon the petitioner or her daughter for admission. It is left open to the 2nd and 3rd respondents to consider the candidature of the minor student on its own merits, in accordance with the applicable rules and admission criteria.

WP.No.43878 of 2026

6. With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. 04-11-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order Neutral Citation: Yes/No vv2 To
