ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 3rd respondent to conclude the enquiry initiated pursuant to the petitioner’s complaint dated 24.03.2025 against the 4th respondent, who allegedly claimed the position of hereditary Dharmakartha of Arulmigu Vetraya Perumal Temple, Mettur Taluk, Salem District, on the basis of false documents, and to pass appropriate orders thereon.
2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 1 to 3.
WP.No.44507 of 2026
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that, pursuant to the petitioner’s complaint dated 24.03.2025, the 2nd respondent forwarded the same to the 3rd respondent on 07.04.2025, pursuant to which an enquiry was conducted on various dates. However, despite the lapse of considerable time, the 3rd respondent has neither concluded the enquiry nor passed final orders. Hence, the petitioner submitted a further representation dated 29.09.2026, requesting the 3rd respondent to conclude the enquiry and pass appropriate orders. However, no orders have been passed till date.
4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 1 to 3 would submit that the petitioner is not cooperating with the enquiry and that, if the petitioner cooperates with the enquiry, appropriate orders would be passed by the 2nd respondent.
5. Considering the submissions made on either side, this Court is of the view that the enquiry initiated pursuant to the petitioner's complaint dated 24.03.2025 cannot be kept pending indefinitely.
WP.No.44507 of 2026
6. Accordingly, the 2nd respondent is directed to fix a date, afford an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner as well as the 4th respondent, conclude the enquiry initiated pursuant to the petitioner's complaint dated 24.03.2025 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
7. With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. 04-11-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order Neutral Citation: Yes/No vv2 To
