ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 14.10.2026 and, after conducting an enquiry, provide necessary police protection for the peaceful erection of a barbed-wire fence around the petitioner's properties situated in Melamadai Village, comprised in Survey Nos.15/16, 1D3A and 1A4, and Vandiur Village, comprised in Survey Nos.136/1A3 and 1A4, Madurai East Taluk, Madurai District.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is the owner of the aforesaid properties and intends to erect a barbed-wire fence around the same. However, due to certain disputes and apprehended obstruction from others, the petitioner is unable to carry out the fencing work peacefully. In this regard, the petitioner has submitted a representation dated 14.10.2026 before the respondents seeking necessary police protection. Since no action has been taken on the said representation, the petitioner has approached this Court seeking the above relief.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents would submit that the second respondent would consider the petitioner's representation and take appropriate action in accordance with law.

WP Crl.(MD) No. 6018 of 2026

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the submissions made on either side, this Court directs the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 14.10.2026, conduct an enquiry and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Before passing such orders, the second respondent shall issue notice to the petitioner and other interested parties, afford them an opportunity of hearing and thereafter pass appropriate orders.
