Prayer: Writ Petition has been filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, to issue Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 2 and 3 to promote the petitioners herein forthwith to the post of Assistant Environmental Engineer with retrospective effect, treating such promotion with effect from the respective dates of the petitioner’s completion of 5 years in the post of Assistant Engineer and consequentially direct the respondents to grant all such monetary benefits and other benefits applicable to the post of Assistant Environmental Engineer with effect from the retrospective dates of the petitioners completing 5
years in the post of Assistant Engineer and fix the seniority of the petitioner in the post of Assistant Environmental Engineer above the respondents 4 to 40.
Prayer: Writ Petition has been filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, to issue Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, to call for the records relating to the impugned order of the first respondent vide G.O.(D).No.188 Environment and Forest (EC.II) Dept., dated 7.8.2006 and quash the same.

ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by Dr.G.Jayachandran J.) There is no representation for the petitioners. Out of five petitioners, petitioners 1, 3 & 4 have already withdrawn the Writ Petition and the same has been recorded vide order dated 28.04.2006 made in W.P.M.P.No.41335 of 2005.

2. Insofar as the 1st petitioner, M.Murugan, retired from service on 31.03.2017, while the 5th petitioner, Velmurugan resigned from service. The other remaining petitioner, K.Yogan, volutarily retired from service (VRS).
3. Consequently, the learned counsel for the respondents submitted that nothing survives for adjudication in these writ petitions.
