ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by P. VELMURUGAN J.) This Writ Petition has been filed as a Public Interest Litigation seeking a direction to the second respondent to conduct an

WP(MD) No. 31271 of 2026 enquiry into the land in Survey No.15/3, Vilangudi Bit-I, Madurai North, Madurai District, and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 07.09.2026.

2. Mr. S.I. Muthiah, learned Additional Government Pleader, takes notice for respondents 1 to 4, 8 and 9. Since no adverse order is proposed to be passed against respondents 5 to 7, notice to them is dispensed with.

3. By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

4. The petitioner, appearing in person, would submit that respondents 5 to 7 have obtained patta in respect of the temple land in Survey No.15/3, Vilangudi Bit-I, Madurai North, by producing forged documents. He would further submit that, despite his representation dated 07.09.2026 and the subsequent communication issued by the second respondent on 23.09.2026 directing an enquiry, no action has been taken. He, therefore, seeks a direction to conduct an enquiry and consider his representation.

WP(MD) No. 31271 of 2026

5. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the Inspector, Madurai North, Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department, Madurai, has filed an appeal before the District Revenue Officer, Madurai, and the same is pending consideration.

6. Since the District Revenue Officer, Madurai, and the Inspector, Madurai North, Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department, Madurai, are not parties to the Writ Petition, this Court suo motu impleads the said officials as respondents 8 and 9 respectively. The Registry is directed to carry out the necessary amendments in the cause title.
