Petitioner was appointed as part time Class-4 employee in the year, 1962. His services were regularized vide order dated 19.10.2005.

2. According to the petitioner, he was born in the year, 1951 and his date of birth i.e. 5.3.1946 entered by the respondents in their record is incorrect. It needs to be corrected.

3. It is settled position of law that an employee has to take steps for correction of service record pertaining to entry of date of birth at the earliest. He is not to wait till the fag end of his career.

4. That apart, plea taken by the petitioner on the face of it appears to false. Admittedly, petitioner was engaged in the year, 1962 when he must be 18 years of age. If petitioner’s plea is accepted, then his age at the time of his initial appointment would worke out to be 11 years.

5. Consequently, without merits, the present petition is dismissed. (Sanjay Karol) Judge December 30, 2010 (KRS)
