It is contended that the petitioner was engaged as daily waged Mazdoor in the month of March 1988 by the respondents, regularized in the year 1999 and is performing the duties of Mate.

2. The grievance projected by the petitioner in this petition is that the services of the persons junior to him have been regularized as Mate, but his services have not been regularized as such, despite the fact that he is eligible.

3. Issue notice. Mr. Hamender Chandel, Advocate, waives notice on behalf of the respondents.

4. In the given circumstances, we deem it proper to dispose of this writ petition alongwith all pending applications by directing the respondents to examine the case of the petitioner and make a decision within six weeks from today, as per the rules occupying the field. Ordered accordingly. His present status as on today be maintained.

5. It goes without saying that in case the decision goes against the petitioner, he is at liberty to seek appropriate remedy.
