ORDER:-
1. This is an application under Section 482 of Criminal Procedure Code (for short, Cr.P.C), seeking to quash crime in F.I.R No.165 of 2019 on the file of Bandiatmakur Police Station, Kurnool District, registered for the alleged offences under Sections 354A, 506 of I.P.C & 3(1)(r)(s) of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.
2. Sole accused in the said crime is the petitioner herein. Though a number of contentions have been advanced by the learned counsel for the petitioner, eventually, a request is made by the learned counsel for the petitioner to direct the respondent/police authorities to adhere to the provisions of Section 41-A of Cr.P.C, since the offences alleged are all punishable with imprisonment for a period less than 7 years. Taking into consideration the submissions of the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court deems it appropriate to dispose of the Criminal Petition with a direction to the police authorities to adhere to the provisions of Section 41-A of the Code of Criminal Procedure Code, 1973.
3. Accordingly, this Criminal Petition is disposed of.
Miscellaneous Petitions pending, if any, in this Criminal Petition shall stand closed.
