JUDGMENT : (per the Hon’ble, the Chief Justice)

On 22[nd] March, 2024, this Court had passed the following order: - “After hearing the learned Advocates for the parties, we are of the view that this is a matter which can be easily resolved through the process of Mediation. The parties have also agreed. As such, we appoint Ms. Sangita Pradhan, learned Advocate and the Deputy Solicitor General of India to mediate between the parties and try and resolve the issues on or before the next date. List this matter for further consideration under an appropriate heading on 03[rd] May, 2024.”

Consequently, the learned Mediator mediated between the parties, holding four (4) sittings, which culminated being a success whereby the parties agreed to resolve their issues in terms of a Deed of Settlement entered into by and between the parties on 30[th] April, 2024.

Let the Deed of Settlement, which has been filed in the Court today, be kept on record. The Registry shall provide certified photocopies of the original Deed of Settlement to the parties forthwith.

We wish to record our appreciation for the efforts taken by Ms. Sangita Pradhan, learned Advocate and the Deputy Solicitor General of India, who successfully mediated and resolved the issues amicably.

We are also of the view that in the facts and circumstances of instant case, the learned Mediator is entitled to a remuneration, which is fixed at ₹30,000/- (Rupees Thirty Thousand only). This remuneration shall be borne by the parties, equally.

The Matrimonial Appeal, being Mat. App. No.01/2022, stands disposed of accordingly.
