JUDGMENT:(per the Hon’ble, the Chief Justice)
On 7[th] December, 2021, we had requested the learned advocate for the State to intimate this Court as to how the health professionals’ services, as noted in the said order, were being utilised.
Today, the learned advocate for the State has apprised this Court with regard to how the service of all those who have obtained diploma/certificate in Community Mental Health from NIMHANS – after enrolling in a 3 months online training programme – are being utilised.
We are satisfied with the measures that are being taken by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Sikkim, regarding prevention and control of suicides in Sikkim.
In such circumstances, we do not find it necessary to keep this Public Interest Litigation pending and we dispose of the instant Public Interest Litigation with a request to the State to consider the further valuable inputs which have been provided by the learned amicus curiae, as contained in his affidavit affirmed on 02[nd] November, 2021.
