Parul Juneja and Harpreet, the petitioners before this Court, claimthemselves to be of marriageable age. They have pleaded that they have marriedagainst the wishes of respondents No.4 to 13. They apprehend danger from themand seek protection of their life and liberty. They have placed on record MarriagePhotographs and Marriage Certificate, Annexures P-3 and P-4, respectively,evidencing their marriage. The petitioners have submitted a representation dated27.12.2021, Annexure P-5, to the Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana City, DistrictLudhiana City, respondent No.2.
Without entering upon an exercise to evaluate the evidentiary value ofthe documents placed on the file, the petition is disposed of with a direction torespondent No.2 to decide the representation of the petitioners, Annexure P-5 anderant them protection, if any threat to their life and liberty is perceived. It is madeclear that this order shall not be taken to protect the petitioners from legal action forviolation of law, if any, committed by them.
