The petitioners have approached this Court seeking protectionof their life and liberty on the premise that petitioner No.2 has performedmarriage with petitioner No.1 against the wishes of her parents and otherfamily members and the petitioners are apprehending threat to their life andliberty at their instance.
Notice of motion.
On asking of the Court, Ms. Rameeza Hakeem, Addl. AG,Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State.
Learned counsel for the petitioners has submitted that arepresentation dated 27.12.2018 was made to the Senior Superintendent ofPolice, SBS Nagar (Nawanshahar) (Annexure P-5) seeking necessary!protection but no action has been taken so far in the matter.

Heard.
Without examining the question of validity or otherwise ofmarriage of the petitioners, the present petition stands disposed of with adirection to the Senior Superintendent of Police, SBS Nagar (Nawanshahar)to look into grievance of the petitioners expressed in the representation(Annexure P-5) and take appropriate action, if any, warranted in thecircumstances.
TheSenior Superintendent of Police, SBS Nagar (Nawanshahar) is further directed to arrange a meeting of respondent No.4with petitioner No.2 in case any such application is moved.
It is made clear that in case any FIR is registered againstpetitioner No.1, it will be open for the police authorities to take action, inaccordance with law.
